"Closing the Reading Gap!"

Power4Kids is the largest clinical trial of reading interventions ever conducted in our public schools. We owe the success of Power4Kids to the partnership:

(1) some of the nation's most prominent researchers in the areas of literacy and reading assessment;

(2) outstanding educators recognized as experts in school organization, management, and data management and use;

(3) two of the best research firms conducting experiments in social sciences with superior expertise in large scale, randomized, controlled trials and implementation;

(4) twelve exceptional foundations joining their funding efforts in a public-private partnership arrangement allowing each major donor to leverage their investment in programs and research, and become part of the mobilization team to replicate, scale, and sustain practices that show significant effects in closing the reading gap: and,

(5) the Institute of Education Sciences of the U. S. Department of Education.

The Power4Kids partnership will be a significant force in shaping our nation's social agenda by communicating research findings clearly to the traditional centers of policymaking.
